HARMONYCA™ LIDOCAINE

HArmonyCa is the latest and innovative product of the Allergan Aesthetics by Abbvie brand. HArmonyCa is a hybrid tissue biostimulator that improves the architecture and quality of the skin, thanks to the harmonious combination of cross-linked hyaluronic acid at a concentration of 20 mg/ml (of increased viscosity) and microspheres of calcium hydroxyapatite. It has the advantage of lasting longer than other fillers, thanks to the presence of calcium hydroxyapatite, which stimulates the production of new collagen when the product naturally degrades.

The hyaluronic acid in HArmonyCa provides volume to the tissue, resulting in an immediate lifting effect on the skin. Meanwhile, calcium hydroxyapatite microspheres stimulate fibroblasts to produce elastin and collagen (types I and III), contributing to improved skin quality, with a visible effect of rejuvenation. New collagen fibers start to form just a week after the treatment, and extracellular matrix transformation occurs. The effects of the treatment can last from 12 to 18 months, and collagen is produced after 2 to 3 months.

Thanks to the added lidocaine, the patient feels no pain during injections, which in turn increases comfort during the procedure.

The product is administered into the deeper layers of the skin and can be used in areas such as cheeks, chin, jawline, and nasolabial folds. The middle and lower parts of the face are the two areas most affected by sagging, for which HArmonyCa is indicated.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

• allergy to product ingredients,
• inflammation and/or skin infection,
• tendency to develop keloid scars,
• pregnancy and breastfeeding,
• antibiotic therapy,
• in combination with deep chemical peel, laser light, and dermabrasion,
• the product should not be injected into the eyelid.

TREATMENT METHOD

The procedure should be carried out by a specialist familiar with the injection method.

The recommended injection depth depends on the type of wrinkles and the chosen technique. HarmonyCa is only indicated for deep injections into the dermis and subcutaneous tissue. The treatment area should be massaged after injection to ensure proper distribution of the product.

Before the procedure, patients should be informed about possible side effects and risks. The treatment area should be thoroughly disinfected. The product should be slowly injected into the skin.

After the procedure, slight swelling, redness, or minor bruises may occur, which disappear within a few hours to a few days.
