JUVEDERM® HYDRATE

Juvéderm® HYDRATE is cross-linked hyaluronic acid. Juvéderm® HYDRATE uses a non-animal form of hyaluronic acid, plus mannitol, an antioxidant which helps to fight potentially damaging free radicals. Free radicals can deteriorate hyaluronic acid and the inclusion of an antioxidant helps to prolong the results of the treatment.

Juvéderm® HYDRATE is not a traditional filler. It is used to improve elasticity, hydration and skin laxity and is used in a treatment technique known as mesotherapy, whereby the product is superficially injected in minute quantities into the upper layers of skin, improving hydration, resulting in a smooth, bright, natural appearance. Hyaluronic acid is a humectant, which means that it attracts and retains up to 1,000 times its own weight in water. When used in mesotherapy, it draws in moisture and retains it, reducing the dryness, fine lines and wrinkles associated with ageing and is also recommended as an early treatment for crow’s feet and fine lines around the mouth.

Juvéderm® HYDRATE is classed as a CE marked medical device having been given a European CE mark in December 2009.

Hyaluronic acid is completely broken down within the skin over a period of months, eventually leaving no trace of the filler. This treatment typically lasts for between four and six months.

CONTRAINDICATED

• hypersensitivity to one of the components,
• skin infection near the site of injection,
• patients susceptible to keloid formation,
• pregnant or lactating women,
• allergy or anaphylaxis,
• bleeding disorders,
• autoimmune disorders,
• antibiotic therapy.
